Chop Chop
Chef Malcom Sanz opened Chop Chop Grub Shop on Nostrand Ave in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, just a few months before the Paprika moved to New York, and into the neighborhood in early 2014. With a small-but-flavorful menu of sandwiches and brunch-like dishes, and a warm cast behind the counter, the small restaurant quickly became a go-to stop for many in the area. The images here documented a day in life of Malcom and his team, shot in a style inspired by Bob Carlos Clarke’s photos in White Heat, a formidable inspiration for Malcolm. He has since closed the restaurant.
