Looking our age: a "grown up" look for Paprika Studios

Category: News & Announcements   |  Tags: memories our stuff somewhat random

I'm breaking in a new blog (and website, in case you haven't clicked around!), with a little story. Bear with me.

A boy and his mustache

When I was nine I heard someone say that facial hair growth is stimulated by shaving. Excited by the thought of twirling a mustache, I firmly grasped a razor and attacked my face. Four years later, the "stimulation" took effect.

Once hair started to grow, I immediately stopped shaving. I mean, I was only thirteen, but the hint of a mustache made me look 17. At least. Of course, now that I have to shave daily regularly, I hate it. (Lesson learned.)

Hmm, I just realized that this is the second story about shaving I've written today. And I'm supposed to tie it to an announcement of the new Paprika Studios website...

Shaving a website?

When I transitioned full-time to Paprika last spring, I put up a simple page as an introduction to the business. It was just me, I didn't have much of a portfolio to show, and I hadn't yet defined the scope of services, so I kept things to a minimum. (I guess I didn't want to brag about a beard when I knew I could only show a five-o-clock shadow.)

Fast forward 15 months: Paprika has established partnerships with incredibly talented creatives, staff has doubled (yes, that means there are two of us), and we're working on some really cool projects. It's time to look our age.

Included in the new site is a growing portfolio and a blog (because I need another one). This is a place for Alisa and I to share lessons learned, and thoughts on our industry; we also plan to use it as a sounding board for some of our coming projects.

Speaking of which...back to work.

We welcome any and all feedback—feel free to leave a comment below, or email me directly with your thoughts. Awkward childhood stories are always welcome.
